#occupysanantonio is now being pressured by police. They have cut our power (as you’ll notice in the video), our water, denied us of blankets and rest, but we still remain at Hemisfair Park. In fact, not only do we remain, we have taken the tower. You can find us 24/7 at the Tower of Americas. :)
Occupy San Antonio Is Alive and Well in Hemisfair Park
December 18, 2011, San Antonio — To quote American writer, Mark Twain, “The rumors of our death are highly exaggerated”. We have not been ‘nudged’ from Hemisfair Park, nor budged in our conviction to occupy all day, every day, in order to call attention to our grievances.
Quite the contrary. We have rejected the area that the police have tried to force us into, where they have denied us amenities that have always been available to the public by cutting off our power and water supply. We have answered them by deciding instead to move our location in the park to the Tower of Americas, where we will be enthusiastically greeting convention goers and respected visitors to our iconic Tower and engaging them with information and discussion about the 99%.
We have no plans to cease our occupy. The public can find us 24/7. Look for the Tower of Americas in Hemisfair Park, where we will always be ready to speak to the good people living in and visiting our great city of San Antonio.
